Storyline Release

We're releasing the Mukombero storyline today!

We first drafted this storyline back in 2019 - and since then, it's been through MANY changes! Finally this year, the story received the full attention from our artists and coders, and we're very happy to share the story with you!

The "good" humans in the story are inspired by the Akashinga (Shona: The Brave Ones) - IAPF's all-female ranger unit protecting the Bush of Phundundu. This is an area in Zimbabwe, which the story will take you! The devotion this team has to saving lives is such a heavy inspiration for us for this storyline, so we hope this is a fitting tribute! This ranger team not only works to save and protect the lives of endangered animals, but also changes the lives of the women in the unit, many of whom have suffered inconceivable hardships in their lives.

We hope that with our art team growing and our artists becoming more specialized in some areas, side storylines like this will flourish and enrich more events in the future!

Bush of Phundundu

Where to start?
The story can be taken on the Adventuring page.
2025: This year, you can start the story until the end of April.
2026 onwards: This story can be started at any time in March.

Note: You will be able to take it again only if you completed the story before March 1st each year. If you still have the story in progress, it won't reset for you, and you will be able to take the story again next March after completing it.

Once you start the story, you have infinite time to complete it!


Requirements?
You are be required to be a Dreamboat, have a submale and complete an initial task.
Do not worry - any required NPC/enemy for the storyline will always spawn in explore, no matter which event is active. This is also true even for required items that normally wouldn't drop in a specific month.

Ending?
There are two endings, each giving you access to different rewards, however the main rewards are the same for both.
There's a Vengeful ending, where you take matters into your own paws, or a Peaceful ending, where you make the good humans deal with the poachers.
Achievements/Title rewards will also match the ending!
Because you can take the story multiple times, it means you can complete both endings in 2 years time and get all achievements/rewards.

There is no karma impact in this story. You're doing good things no matter what, so it'd be unfair to Evil lions ;D

New mechanics?
Aside from explore adapting to your quest requirements no matter what month it is, there's also a small difficulty spike. Some enemies will block the use of Lucky Foot, which is explained in the story. Some battles might be more difficult, but with the help of the Wiki, you might defeat any enemy swiftly!
However, as there is also a specific battle buddy / buff effect for specific quests, it might not be so bad!

Adventure Shop
We are introducing a new location - Adventure Shop in Adventuring page! Now it appears empty, but as you complete stories, items will "unlock" with every finale you choose. The unlocks are permanent and tied to your account.

The currency is rewarded in a way that means you will always afford at least 1 of each item, but it is your choice on how to spend it. You can ignore the Mukombero completely and buy decors or an Energy Refill (That's right! year-round access to energy for a price ;D), or you can buy 1 Mukombero and save currency for future years, or another storyline. Or you can just farm this story every year and then spend it all on a future storyline's reward to get extra copies!

We think it's a good solution to the issue of the main reward becoming less valuable over the years, which the Vredefort Crater/Interstellar app highlighted.

Currency - Epic Beetles is stored on your account and cannot be traded.
